Ghost ("we," "our," or "us") is an AI avatar video creation app available on iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Ghost app and website at facelesscreator.io.
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, your Apple ID and optional display name.
Videos and recordings: When you use Mirror Mode, you upload or record a short video of yourself. This recording is transmitted to our AI processing infrastructure and deleted from our servers after processing (typically within 24 hours). Generated videos are stored in your account and visible only to you.
Photos and selfies: When you use the AI Actor feature, you may optionally submit a selfie photo to generate an AI avatar portrait. This photo is transmitted to our AI processing infrastructure for the sole purpose of generating your avatar image and is deleted after processing.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the app — modes used, videos generated, and credits consumed — to improve the product.
Payment information: Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store via in-app purchase. We use RevenueCat to track subscription status and credit balances. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card details directly.
Device tokens: We collect your device's push notification token to send you alerts when your video is ready.
Ghost uses AI technology that processes visual content from your videos and photos. This section describes in detail how face-related data is handled.
What face data is collected: When you use Mirror Mode, you record a short video (up to 15 seconds) of yourself. This video may contain your face, body, and voice. When you use the AI Actor feature, you may submit a single photo (selfie) of your face. Ghost does not use device-level face recognition APIs and does not collect facial geometry measurements or biometric identifiers.
How face data is used:
Third-party AI processing — fal.ai: All AI video and image generation is performed by fal.ai (Fal, Inc.), our AI infrastructure provider. When you generate a video or AI actor portrait, the following data is transmitted to fal.ai's servers:
fal.ai processes this data solely to generate your requested output. fal.ai does not retain your input data beyond the processing window (typically minutes). See fal.ai's privacy policy at fal.ai/privacy.
No biometric templates stored: Ghost does not create, store, or share facial recognition templates, facial geometry data, faceprints, or other biometric identifiers derived from your face. Your source video and photos are transient inputs to AI generation — they are not retained as structured biometric data.
Storage and retention: Mirror Mode source recordings and AI Actor selfies are stored temporarily in encrypted cloud storage (Supabase, hosted in the US) for the duration of AI processing, then deleted — typically within 24 hours. Generated AI videos are stored in your account until you delete them or delete your account.
User control and consent: Use of Mirror Mode and the AI Actor feature is entirely optional. You may use Studio Mode (script-based avatar videos) without submitting any video or photo of yourself. If you wish to delete a generated video, you can do so at any time from your Library. To delete your account and all associated data, use Profile → Delete Account in the app.
Equal treatment: Ghost does not deny services, provide different service quality, or charge different prices based on your choice to share or not share face data. Mirror Mode and AI Actor features are optional enhancements; all core features remain available regardless of your choice.
In-app disclosure and consent: Before your face data is transmitted to third-party AI services for the first time, Ghost displays a clear disclosure explaining what data is sent, to whom, and for what purpose. Your explicit acknowledgment is required to proceed.
We use your information to provide and operate the Ghost service, process video generation requests, track your credit balance, send push notifications when your video is ready, and improve the app based on usage patterns. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Supabase: User authentication, database storage, and file storage. Hosted in the US. See supabase.com/privacy.
fal.ai (Fal, Inc.): All AI video and image generation is performed on fal.ai's infrastructure. In Mirror Mode, your recorded video and the selected character image are transmitted to fal.ai. In AI Actor mode, your selfie and a text prompt are transmitted to fal.ai. fal.ai processes this data solely for generation and does not retain inputs. See fal.ai/privacy.
RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions and credit packs purchased through Apple's App Store. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
Anthropic: AI script generation. Script prompts you submit are sent to Anthropic for processing. No face data or video is sent to Anthropic. See anthropic.com/privacy.
PostHog: Product analytics. Anonymized usage events are collected to understand feature adoption. No face data or video content is sent to PostHog.
Your account and generated videos are retained while your account is active. Mirror Mode source recordings and AI Actor selfies are deleted after AI processing, typically within 24 hours. When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can delete individual videos from your Library at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Contact us at magarity.mark@gmail.com or use the Delete Account option in the app (Profile → Delete Account). EEA/UK users have additional rights under GDPR. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA.
Ghost is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Ghost after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
